August, 10th, 2009, we celebrated our second anniversary!! We stayed at the 'W' in Seattle for a few days and just lazed it up. Did pikes place and nice dinners, got woken up by a lovely singing bird called a seagull, did breakfast in bed, played games... just relaxed. Our anniversary fell on a Monday, which we both took off, but instead of staying in Seattle we came home to be with our family and take them to the park to play:) After a day with the doggies, we made dinner at home and had a picnic inside because it was raining outside. Hard to believe it's already been two years, but we've been lovin' every minute of it!

We kept it simple and something that we love.. camping! We packed up our new rig with all our camping gear and drove around fairly close campgrounds until we found our perfect spot. The weekend was spent just relaxing with each other and re-learning how much we entertain one another when there is nothing else, but trees and the person you're with. The second night it rained BIG time. We were emptying a 5 gallon bucket every 5-10 minutes. The tarp above us couldn't hold all the water so Mike let the back corner fall so that all the rain water would dump into the homemade trench he made along our tent. Sounds easy, but when your shovel for trench digging is an ax.. things get hard. I did my part by getting the entire thing on tape. Of course, after we went to bed the rain stopped shortly after.
Sunday was our actual anniversary. One of Mike's clients bought us some nice champagne that went well with our year old cake topper:) Not bad, actually!
It was most definitely an anniversary to remember.
